Amy Bowles

Amy Bowles is an artist, musician and actress. Born in London, UK, she graduated from the Cardiff Institute of Art and Design (1993-96) with a BA in Ceramic Design. Since then Amy has been showing paintings, sculptures and film. She is represented by Paul Petro Contemporary Art Gallery , Toronto. Currently Amy is revisiting her schooling in ceramics, focusing on the hypnotic experience of casting multiples, as shown in her current exhibition Cranium.
As an actress she has primarily worked with Toronto's director and playwright Alex Wolfson. In August 2006 she acted in and co-wrote songs for The Drag, performed at Inter Access, a multi media gallery in Toronto. In August 2008 she acted and sung in If I'm Me Today, Must I Tomorrow, at Gallery TPW, Toronto. Most recently she was cast in Wolfson's stark Victorian play The Sexual Aberrations:Part One which was featured as part of The Rhubarb Festival 2009 in Toronto. She has also acted on the screen, in such films as Tony Romano's The Last Act. Amy is the lead vocalist for the Toronto bands Pony da Look and Permafrown.
