Mélanie Rocan

Mélanie Rocan is a bilingual Franco-Manitoban and has graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honors Degree, thesis in painting. During 2004 she was represented by the othergallery at the Toronto International Art Fair, and was in the current issue of BorderCrossings, YOUNG, issue 92. In 2003 she was part of the Young Winnipeg Artists group exhibition at Plug-In Institute of Contemporary Art and has shown work in the two-six collective show À La Planche, at the Annex Gallery in Winnipeg. In 2001-2002 she was the artist-in-residence for the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Center, in Saint-Boniface, and in the beginning of her thesis year she had a solo show entitled Little Dream at the Center which completed her residency. She is also part of an upcoming two-six exhibition at gallery 1.1.1., in September 2005.

Mélanie Rocan currently lives in Montréal and is in the MFA programme at Concordia University.
