SUZY LAKE
Excerpts from Re-Reading Recovery
May 14 - June 14
Following the tremendous success and critical acclaim for "WACK! Art
and the Feminist Revolution" and "Identity Theft", two U.S. group
exhibitions focused on work from 1968-76 and including seminal early
works by Suzy Lake, Paul Petro Contemporary Art is pleased to present
photo-based works from three intersecting series by Lake from the mid-
1990's. The presentation of these works coincides with "Rhythm of a
True Space" at the Art Gallery of Ontario, part of the public installation
programme of the CONTACT Photo Festival. AGO photography curator
Sophie Hackett has written on this work for the CONTACT catalogue.

"`Rhythm of a True Space' takes the metaphoric reference of individual preparation for a positive rebuilding to the promise of Frank Geary's transformation of the Art Gallery of Ontario." - Suzy Lake
