Paul Petro Contemporary Art is pleased to present the group exhibition Not A One Night Stand featuring three works by three artists, Jane Buyers, Natalka Husar and Catharine MacTavish, all Ontario-based artists who have spent the past 1-2 years preparing their works for this show. And on the occasion of this exhibition we are particularly pleased to welcome Toronto-based artist Natalka Husar to the gallery.

The title Not A One Night Stand refers to the durational aspect of the three works being presented in this group exhibition. What immediately strikes the viewer is the implied labour and time required to produce these paintings and drawing. They invite reflection on the ideas of obsession and compulsion and the lengths that an artist can go to in achieving the desired effect. What is clear from these works, and by extension the work of Olia Mishchenko, is that there are no short cuts and that the path of least resistance is not the only one.
