New World is a new body of work that employs familiar compositional devices drawn from traditions of landscape painting. Through a meditative approach to object making, several landscape paintings chart the beginning of spring to the end of summer 2012. Smaller ink drawings depict intuitive responses to insects and foliage in an effort to embody the subject.

Morley Shayuk is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist from Aurora, Ontario. He has exhibited paintings, drawings, sculpture and video annually with Paul Petro Contemporary Art since 2009, and most recently has published EWW; an artist booklet on Canadian modernist sculptor Elizabeth Wyn Wood (1903 - 1966) in collaboration with writer Adam Lauder.
